Why do I want to do this?

Sheer idle curiosity, this. I have a perception that I don't dream much, and certainly I remember very few dreams. I think it would be interesting to keep a record of dreams for a while.


How will I know I've done this?

Either on paper or somewhere on the internet, I'll have a précis of one hundred and one distinct dreams, as accurate as I can manage within the limitations of the medium.

Why do I want to do this?

I accumulate an awful lot of Stuff. Some of it's good stuff. Some of it's stuff that, on balance, I'd really rather not have around, but which I can't get rid of because it has personal information that I'd rather the binmen/identity fraudsters/the recycling people didn't read.


How will I know I've done this?

There'll be a shredder in my study. There isn't one at the moment, so I'll be able to tell the difference ;-)

Line of Stars

What's this about?

From the BBC:
* Meteor showers are caused by debris from a comet burning up in our atmosphere
* This produces spectacular shooting stars which blaze across the night sky



Why do I want to do this?

Watching shooting stars? What's not to like?


How will I know I've done this?

I'll have seen at least three meteors in the same night.

Bow Tie

Why do I want to do this?

This seems to me to be one of those useful adult skills that nobody ever bothers to teach you, on a level with being able to shuffle cards with the minimum of fuss and bother. One of these days I may find myself terribly embarrassed upon being exposed as someone who can't tie a bow tie. (NB: a bow tie does not form part of my everyday attire, but I still think I should be able to do it.)


How will I know I've done it?

I'll be able to put a standard (i.e. not velcro, hook-and-eye or clip-on) bow tie on myself or another person, and make it look reasonable.

Why do I want to do this?

There's no point in owning things you don't use - particularly things that aren't nice to have in and of themselves. I'm hoping that, by making a conscious decision to use all the white, grey, black and stainless steel goods, I'll be able to consider whether or not I actually want to keep them around, and, if I do, to use them more.


How will I know I've done this?

Every item on the list below (which is to be added to as and when I think of more things) will have the name of a dish next to it - a dish I've cooked using it.

Vegetables

What's this about?

A veg box service is like the milkman, but with vegetables. A bit less predictable than the milkman, too, as I understand it.


Why do I want to do this?

I'd like to support local farmers (if there actually are any around my way, which I must confess is something that I have no idea about). I'd like to eat better, and to push myself into eating things I wouldn't usually try.


How will I know I've done this?

I'll have found out about what kind of veg box services are offered in the Woking area. I will have made a decision whether or not to pursue any of these further.
